We were eager to hear what Nelson Fernandes, a Mechanical Supervisor who has been with Windhoist for over ten years, had to say about the company and industry as a whole. We hope you enjoy the interview!

Describe a ‘typical’ day onsite:

There are so many different activities going on in a typical day with Windhoist, but the most impressive one has to be installation. Everyone gets delighted at seeing the processes and effort involved with getting the wind turbine together. With excellent qualified and professional people anything is possible!

When did you move to Windhoist Australia, and how did you feel about the move?

I moved in 2016. I feel so grateful because here the projects are so big, so there are more facilities for our family to follow us from site to site, and the company has supported us all the way!

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Coordination of new crews, training new members in the company and maintaining schedule times for tasks.

What are your career highlights?

Being part of this promising future in such a young industry!

Do you have any advice for anyone looking to start within this industry?

Come and see with your own eyes how great a job this is! The number of things going on on-site will surprise you!

Thanks for your time Nelson, and here’s to another decade as part of the Windhoist family!
