We are pleased to announce that Windhoist Training Centre has been awarded accreditation to deliver GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT)

We are now training providers for the following GWO courses:

  • Working at Height & Rescue
  • First Aid
  • Manual Handling
  • Fire Awareness
  • Basic Technical Training (BTT)

The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Technical Training modules are aimed at those who wish to enter both the onshore and offshore renewable energy sectors. It is an excellent entry point for candidates who have no previous experience in hydraulic, mechanical or electrical systems.

The course is also beneficial for those who have some knowledge in these areas but wish to upskill in order to work within the renewables industry.

The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) is an association of Wind Turbine owners and manufacturers with the aim of supporting an injury-free work environment within the wind industry. A fundamental aim of GWO is to develop common industry training and best practice standards for health and safety as a vital step in reducing risks to all personnel working within the wind industry and to reducing environmental risks across the globe.

Anyone wishing to work on a GWO members property (Wind Turbine Generators, sub stations, etc.) must complete the GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT) courses.

The GWO Basic Technical Training modules can be taken separately and in any order you wish. It is however recommended that module one is completed first. Upon completion of the 3 modules which make up GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT), delegates will possess an awareness of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems, preparing them for working both on and offshore in the renewable energy sectors.

GWO members now expect all technicians working on their wind turbines to have valid GWO BTT certificates.
